of the Turkish coastline is known as the Turkish Riviera or Turquoise Coast and
stretches form Fethiye in the west right through to the Syrian border in the east.

Mediterranean. The area from Fethiye to Kemer is known as Lycia and has Turkeys
most dramatic coastline with mountains falling away into crystal clear seas. Summer
temperatures average 30-40°c. Rainfall is mainly during the months December
to February. The villages of Hisarönü and Ovacik are located on a plateau 1,000ft above sea level under Babadag Mountain (Father Mountain). All around there are magnificent views of pine clad mountains. During the summer months there is usually a cooling breeze coming up from the seas. Fethiye, the main market town of the area is about 7 kilometres and the famous beach at Ölüdeniz is about 4 kilometres from the villages. Rhodes is about 80 kilometres by sea from Fethiye. |
